Target won't have physical Apple Pay support until checkout overhaul is complete

RANCHO PALOS VERDES — Blame Target's data breach for the delay on getting Apple Pay support in stores.

Back in 2013, Target suffered through one of the worst credit card data breaches ever. It basically set the bar for all that's come after it. It was a wakeup call for the industry, especially for Target, which hired a new CEO Brian Cornell 10 months ago. One of his first tasks: Replace the company's entry point of sale (or payment and checkout system) with a Mastercard chip and pin system
