Report on self-driving car accidents is in violation of good sense

Writing a good news story is, to a certain extent, like driving in busy traffic. To do a good job of it you have to pay attention, follow the rules of the road and show some skill. It’s easy to mess up — we humans are fallible, after all — and when we do, the results range from a fender bender-level embarrassment to a fatal collision-class career-ender.

The recent and widely distributed AP story by Justin Pritchard regarding four accidents since September involving self-driving cars sits fairly close to the fender-bender portion of that spectrum.
