Can Meerkat still compete against Periscope?

The most enduring story to come out of Saturday's MayPac fight hasn't been the fight itself, but the way in which thousands of individuals managed to watch it for free, thanks to live video apps Periscope and Meerkat.

Much of the conversation has been around piracy and copyright infringement, but it's also largely centered around just one of the services: Periscope

As Twitter CEO Dick Costolo tweeted, Periscope won the night.

On Monday, Mashable's Seth Fiegerman wrote,
