Adobe gives Lightroom a power boost in latest update

Adobe is making it easier for photographers to edit their photos from within Lightroom.

The update to the photo management app comes with performance enhancements and new tools for editing and organizing images.

The latest version of the desktop software includes an option that makes it a cinch to stitch multiple shots together. Meanwhile, the new panorama feature streamlines the process of merging of several images into a customizable high resolution panorama

An HDR merging feature provides a similar tool for merging RAW images into a High Dynamic Range (HDR) image. HDR is the practice of taking multiple photos of the same scene — taken at different exposures — and combining them into a single image that has a wider range of light levels that is more representative of the the lighting when the photo was taken. In this way, an image with really dark shadows, for example, can be combined with one with overexposed highlights to create a more balanced picture. Read more...
