The man who helped BuzzFeed usher in the era of native advertising on the Internet is ready to awaken the quiet giant of U.S. online media.

Jon Steinberg, 37, took the position of CEO at MailOnline earlier this week, having left BuzzFeed in May. He believes he can do for MailOnline what he did for BuzzFeed — make money off the content that its users can't resist.

"You've got to pick the things that are the hallmark," Steinberg told Mashable"You've got to look for those little cultural touchstone things that make you stand out and make people love you."
