Blunderbuss singer-songwriter Jack White just scored his second No. 1 solo album on the Billboard 200 chart with his sophomore effort Lazaretto, but more notably, he also broke the longstanding record for highest first-week vinyl sales in the United States in more than two decades

His Lazaretto LP — containing a hand-etched hologram of a floating angel — sold more than 40,000 copies in one week, dethroning Pearl Jam's Vitalogy, which claimed the Nielsen SoundScan record in 1994 with 34,000 copies. Nielsen SoundScan has been tracking vinyl sales since 1991.
