Chelsea Handler Signs Deal for Talk Show With Netflix

Chelsea Handler has signed a deal with Netflix for a new talk show to begin in early 2016, the on-demand streaming video company's first foray into late-night programming territory.

The deal also includes a new one-hour standup special to air on Oct. 10 based on her recent "Uganda Be Kidding Me" tour. She will also make four "docu-comedy" specials in which she learns about new subjects ranging from Nascar and the NBA draft to politics and Silicon Valley.

The format and the timing of the airing of the show was not immediately clear, but Netflix said that it would be "updated" while still featuring "Chelsea’s unfiltered opinions on topical entertainment and cultural issues, as well as her signature guest interviews." Read more...
