Disney Star Zendaya Coleman Cast as Aaliyah in Lifetime Biopic

Disney Channel staple Zendaya Coleman has landed a seriously buzzy role.

The 17-year-old, best known for her turn in Shake It Up and on ABC's Dancing with the Stars, has been tapped to play late recording artist Aaliyah in a Lifetime Original Movie called Aaliyah: Princess of R&B. The film is set to air this fall.

Based on a biography written by former Time magazine music editor Christopher John Farley, the movie will chronicle Aaliyah's life from her days as a young girl growing up in Detroit to her 2001 death in a plane crash at age 22. Read more...
