Amtrak to Launch High-Speed Wi-Fi Network

Amtrak is planning to create its own high-speed Wi-Fi network for passengers on its Northeast Corridor lines

The network, which would offer a boost in speeds from the current 10 Mbps to a minimum of 25 Mbps, would span the entire 457-mile stretch of Amtrak's Northeast Corridor, which runs from Boston through New York to Washington, D.C.

Currently, there are no specific plans in place, but the company is accepting bids to build a proof-of-concept version of the project.
