Tesla Could Return to New Jersey as Early as July

Tesla may be ready to take a U-turn back to the Garden State as soon as July.

Two months after the state halted direct sales of Tesla in the state, the New Jersey State Assembly's Consumer Affairs Committee on Thursday approved a zero-emissions bill that would reverse the decision. The bill lets any company that manufacturers — including Tesla — open up to four stores in the state that sell directly to consumers.

A rep for the New Jersey Legislature says the next opportunities for the state Assembly to vote on the bill would be June 23, June 26 and June 30. After that, the Assembly takes a summer recess.
