Thailand Military Chief Tells Reporters to Ask Easier Questions, Cheer Him On

Two of Thailand’s top military reporters were summoned on Tuesday to the army’s headquarters, where officers asked them to go easy on the country’s newly self-installed leader.

Army secretary Maj. Gen. Ponlapat Wannapak told the Bangkok Post’s Wassana Nanuam and Thai Rath’s Suppalerk Thongchailit that the leader of Thailand’s coup, Gen. Prayuth Chan-ocha, wanted them to stop asking "aggressive questions."

“Gen. Prayuth asked me to tell you that today he is not only an army chief but the leader of national administration, both legislative and administrative. So before answering questions, he must ponder them,” Wannapak said, according to the Bangkok Post. Read more...
