Nest Recalls 440,000 Smoke Alarms

Good news: Nest has apparently sold more than 400,000 smoke alarms since the product launched in October. Bad news: The company has issued a recall on all of them.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) says Nest is recalling 440,000 smoke and carbon monoxide detectors to repair a glitch that accidentally silences the device.

The smart home device maker first announced last month that it had halted sales on the device after discovering a flaw related to a feature called Nest Wave, which let users turn off the device simply by waving their hands in front of it.
