Twitter Is Down for Some Users

Twitter is down for some users, the company confirmed on its blog Tuesday.

The first user reports of Twitter downtime started appearing around 2:20 p.m. PT on May 13. At the time of this writing, the service had been down for about hour. The outage is affecting Twitter service on the web and mobile.

Twitter's status blog states that the site is "experiencing issues viewing and sending Tweets on twitter.com and Twitter’s mobile apps."

In the first few years of its existence, Twitter outages were a frequent occurrence. In fact, down time was so frequent, its error page, with its "fail whale" became part of Internet culture. During major political, social or tech events, Twitter often struggled to stay afloat. Read more...
