Police Search Home of Pilot; Disappearance of Plane Is Called 'Deliberate'

Malaysian police searched the home on Saturday of the pilot of the missing jetliner that disappeared eight days ago, following the declaration by Prime Minister Najib Razak that the plane had been diverted in a "deliberate' act.

Speaking to reporters Saturday, Najib said communications on the missing jetliner were "deliberately disabled" and that the last signal received from the plane came more than seven hours after takeoff — meaning the plane could have ended up anywhere from the southern Indian Ocean to Central Asia (see the full remarks).
