Apple and Samsung Fail to Work Out Deal Ahead of Trial

Apple CEO Tim Cook reportedly met with Samsung mobile chief J.K. Shin in an attempt to settle the ongoing dispute between the two rivals over mobile patents

According to ZDNet Korea, the executives recently met in the U.S. to discuss the intellectual property infringement allegations ahead of next month's trial, but were unable to come up with a settlement. However, both parties have not confirmed that the meeting ever took place

A U.S. court ordered Apple and Samsung to meet by Feb. 19 ahead of the upcoming trial, which starts on March 31. The case will look at the patents surrounding Apple's iPhone 4S and the Samsung Galaxy Nexus III devices. Samsung faces damages up to $930 million. Read more...
