Fairy Tale for Founders: Disney Launches Startup Accelerator Program

There's a whole new Disney World for startup founders.

Walt Disney announced Wednesday that it has partnered with Techstars to launch a startup accelerator program in Los Angeles that will provide early-stage startups with access to notable mentors and resources from the media conglomerate

"It is the first time Disney has partnered with an accelerator program and we're focused on taking high-quality teams of startups in the entertainment and media spaces," a rep for Techstars told Mashable

Disney Accelerator, as the program is called, will accept 10 startups, provide each with a seed investment of $120,000 and offer "mentor support" from Disney's CEO and other executives from the company and the industry at large. Perhaps best of all, Disney says those accepted will get "access to stories, characters, technology and other resources from across The Walt Disney Company." Read more...
