Did the iPhone 5C Hurt Apple's North America Sales?

Apple sales increased by 5.7% in the holiday quarter year-over-year thanks to a host of new products, but the picture was much different in North America.

The company revealed in its first-quarter earnings report Monday that sales in the Americas actually declined slightly from $20.3 billion in the first quarter of 2013 to $20.1 billion in the most recent quarter. On the earnings call Monday night, Apple CEO Tim Cook confirmed that the company's "North America business" had "contracted somewhat year-over-year."
