Farhad Manjoo Moves to the 'New York Times'

Farhad Manjoo is set to leave the Wall Street Journal after less than six months for David Pogue's vacated position as "State of the Art" columnist for the New York Times.

Manjoo confirmed the news in a post on LinkedIn in which he laid out his reasons for leaving the Journal and his broader vision for technology coverage, which referenced recent articles by Matthew Buchanan and Dave Winer.

"Though I do want to write about gadgets, I want to write about much more, too — how technology is shaping music and movies and language and cooking, how it's altering human intelligence, whether it's turning us into irretrievable narcissists (and whether that’s so bad), and also what the deal with hashtags is," Manjoo wrote in the LinkedIn post.
