3 Arrested for Starting Raging Wildfire in Southern California

UPDATE, Jan. 16, 5:51 p.m. ET: Three men were arrested on Thursday, accused of starting the fire by tossing papers into a campfire, authorities said. The fire has already burned down two houses and injured one person

A dangerous wildfire has broken out just outside of the Southern California community of Glendora, Calif. The rapidly-moving fire started at sunrise on Thursday in the dry foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains and is now moving down, advancing rapidly towards nearby neighborhoods and burning houses on its way.

The origin of the fire is still unknown. Early estimates say at least 2.5 square miles of dry bush have burned, just 25 miles northeast of Los Angeles, as reported by the Associated Press. Read more...
