13 Apocalyptic Photos of the Southern California Wildfire

A dangerous wildfire has broken out just outside of the Southern California community of Glendora, Calif. The rapidly-moving fire started at sunrise on Thursday in the dry foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains and is now moving down, advancing rapidly towards nearby neighborhoods and burning houses on its way.

The origin of the fire is still unknown. Early estimates say at least 2.5 square miles of dry bush have burned, just 25 miles northeast of Los Angeles, as reported by the Associated Press.

The fire, which was reported around 5:50 a.m. PST, picked up quickly, pushed by the dry Santa Ana winds, which are responsible for some of California's worst wildfires.
