$10,000 Urine Detectors Try to Catch Perps With Their Pants Down

Atlanta's public transit system operators are looking to catch violators by installing urine detectors in stations' elevators around the city.

After a brief pilot testing program, the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) will begin installing the $10,000-a-piece detectors next month, WSBTV reported.

Public urination is a "daily problem" in some MARTA stations. "The smell [of urine] hits you so bad. You hold your breath just to hurry up and get off the elevator," one rider told WSBTV.
