Top 10 Google Search Trends in 2013, According to Google

Google released its annual year-end Zeitgeist report, a list of top global search trends for the year that includes a video overview of the search trends in 2013 and the year's top 100 searches

Notable deaths highlighted the top trending searches this year around the world. The No. 1 spot went to Nelson Mandela, the South African anti-apartheid hero who died in December. He is followed by actor Paul Walker, who died in a tragic car accident, also in early December. No. 4 on the list was Cory Monteith, the Glee actor who passed away from an overdose in July.
