Google's Biggest Doodle Yet: an 8-bit 'Doctor Who' Game

Doctor Who fans, get ready to lose all remaining productivity. The latest Google Doodle just went live on Google New Zealand, and is about to roll out around the world

It's an 8-bit platform game in which you play the Doctor through all his 11 incarnations.

Celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Timelord, this epic multi-level Doodle has been in the works for four months. At the Googleplex in Mountain View, it became known as the "Whodle." The company says it's the largest interactive Doodle yet created.

Your goal as the Doctor is to retrieve all of the letters in "Google" and return them to your TARDIS, while avoiding the exterminating Dalek. Fall afoul of the evil Dalek and you regenerate into the next Doctor down the line. (John Hurt's "War Doctor", revealed after the Doodle's production began, is not included.) Read more...
