Apple Reportedly Buys PrimeSense for $345 Million

Apple has reportedly acquired PrimeSense, the company behind the Xbox Kinect's 3D-sensor technology, for $345 million, according to Israeli financial newspaper Calcalist.

This isn't the first time that rumors of an acquisition have popped up. In July, the newspaper reported that Apple was in talks to acquire PrimeSense at a valuation between $280 million and $300 million

A spokesperson for PrimeSense previously declined to comment, telling Mashable, "We can't comment on what any of our partners, customers or potential customers are doing and we’re not commenting on rumors." Read more...
