Apple's New Retina iPad Mini Starts at $399

Apple unleashed a new, high-resolution Retina iPad mini at its big iPad event in San Francisco on Tuesday.

The original iPad mini, which was released in October 2012, has been a big hit for Apple; in the words of Phil Schiller, Apple's senior vice president of worldwide marketing, "customers love the complete iPad experience the iPad mini offers."

The iPad mini with Retina display has a screen resolution of 2048 x 1536 and maintains the same form-factor as the original.
