Cell Phone Users Over Age 65 Are 1/3 as Likely to Send Texts

Commercials portraying grandparents using phones and tablets to Skype with their grandkids may be deceptive — in reality, only 3% of cell phone users over the age of 65 use their smartphones to video chat

Statista's chart, below, shows how cell phone use differs by age group. As you might expect, teens and 20-somethings are far more likely to rely on cell phones to check email, text and listen to music than any other age group
