Today's Google Doodle is a tribute to French physicist Léon Foucault, best known for his Foucault pendulum, which demonstrates the rotation of the Earth on its axis. Foucault was born on September 18, 1819, and died on February 11, 1868; today is the 194th anniversary of his birth
