Google and Intel Unveil New Chromebooks

Several new Chrome-based devices, powered by Intel’s latest processors based on the Haswell microarchitecture, were unveiled Wednesday at the Intel Developer Forum in San Francisco.

A post on Google’s official Chrome blog showed off four new devices using the new processor, including Chromebooks from HP, Toshiba and Acer, as well as a Chromebox from Asus.

According to Chromebook product manager Caesar Sengupta, the new processors will not only require less power for the cloud-centric laptops, but also deliver within the range of two times more battery life, as well as overall improved performance. Read more...
