Yahoo News Poaches 'New York Times' for Editor in Chief

Yahoo News named a new editor in chief on Monday: Megan Liberman, the deputy news editor of the New York Times.

Liberman, pictured below, will "lead a major expansion of Yahoo News, bringing in new voices and defining features for the site," according to a Yahoo blog post announcing the move. At Yahoo, Liberman will "focus primarily on original reporting, social news gathering, video and live events coverage."

The post credited Liberman for driving the Times' "most successful digital initiatives," including its blog network and Nate Silver's multi-platform presence during the 2012 elections. She is also credited with launching the newspaper's parenting blog, Motherlode. Read more...
