NSA Can Access Phone Data and Other News You Need to Know

Welcome to this morning's edition of "First To Know," a series in which we keep you in the know on what's happening in the digital world.

Today, we're looking at three particularly interesting stories. Germany’s Der Spiegel cited documents detailing the NSA’s ability to access various mobile operating systems. According to the Wall Street Journal, Instagram is ramping up efforts to include advertisements on the image-sharing service. Finally, despite earlier reports to the contrary, Amazon will not launch a phone this year.
