Texas Rules College Football in Fascinating Facebook Data Map

Ah, college football season. The annual rite of autumn is finally here, bringing with it tailgates, camaraderie and, of course, friendship-testing fan allegiances

But which of college football's top teams score the most points with sports fanatics? The data map below, provided by Facebook, yields some interesting insights. It takes the Associated Press pre-season Top 25 poll, then shows which team has the most fans in each county of every state. We'll get more into the details in a minute, but first have a look for yourself (click the lower left corner to expand):

Texas, ranked 15th on the actual field, is the overall champ on Facebook, winning 543 counties across a range of states. Florida wins 423 counties and Ohio State wins 376, while Nebraska takes 324.
