Google Nabs Glass Display Patents From Foxconn

Google has reportedly purchased various display patents from Chinese tech supplier Hon Hai — also known as Foxconn — in an effort to ready the market for its high-tech Glass.

According to The Wall Street Journal, Foxconn — which manufactures and assembles products for Apple, Amazon and other major tech brands— sold the patents for head-mounted technology that creates "a virtual image and is superimposed on a real-world view."

The terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Google Glass, the company's touch-sensitive device heralded as the future of mobile, will reportedly be available for consumers in 2014. Although Taiwan-based Foxconn will manufacture Google Glass, it will be made at the company's U.S. factories in Texas and California. Read more...
