Report: Amazon Tests a Wireless Network in California

Does Amazon want to be a wireless provider? According to Bloomberg, the company is at least toying with the idea.

Amazon recently tested a network in Cupertino, Calif., using broadband spectrum provided by Globalstar, according to the report, which cites unnamed sources. Reps from Amazon declined to comment. The trial was in the vicinity of Amazon's Lab126 in Cupertino, the report states. That research facility designs and engineers Kindle devices.
