Judge Koh denies Samsung a retrial over Apple's invalidated bounce-back patent

Judge Koh denies Samsung's motion to dismiss trail over bounceback patent invalidation

Now that the bounce-back portion of Apple's infamous patent 7,649,381 has been invalidated by the USPTO, Samsung was understandably pressing for a retrial or a final decision that was more in its favor. While the sprawling patent covers a lot of other touchscreen actions as well, bounce-back was a lynchpin in the $1 billion judgement favoring Cupertino. Judge Lucy Koh, however, has decided to ignore the Korean company's pleas and press on with Apple vs. Samsung II, meaning that the trial scheduled for November 12th 2013 will proceed as planned. What does that mean for all of us? Yet more legal wrangling and a prolonging of Samsung's California nightmare.
