Lenovo Ships More Mobile Devices Than PCs for First Time

Lenovo, the world's No. 1 PC maker, now ships more mobile devices than PCs.

The company announced that in its fiscal first quarter, which ended June 30, "combined shipments of smartphones and tablets surpassed PCs for the first time ever during the quarter, demonstrating the momentum of these two businesses," resulting in a record $8.8 billion in revenues. However, the company still makes most of its money from PCs; 52% of sales last quarter came from laptop computers. Just 14% are from mobile devices.
