RelayRides Logs 1 Million Rental Hours to Cap Busy Summer

When RelayRides users aren't driving their cars, they turn the keys over to strangers in their neighborhood. And it appears they share their wheels frequently

The San Francisco-based peer-to-peer car sharing company has facilitated a total of one million rental hours since launching three years ago, according to CEO Andre Haddad. This milestone validates the concept of sharing cars in a rapidly changing transportation landscape

"Our goal is to democratize the benefits of car sharing," Haddad said in a statement to Mashable. "For us, that means having a RelayRides car within a 10-minute walk for at least 100 million Americans by the end of 2015.
