Volkswagen's SmileDrive App Tracks Your Road Trip

You might want to bring along one more passenger on your next road trip.

Volkswagen recently launched SmileDrive, an app that can work as the group historian while everyone else in the car has fun on the open road.

Sign in using your Google account and sync the app with the Bluetooth system in your car. (A manual recording system is available for cars without Bluetooth functionality.) Once paired, the app will sense when you’re driving and track your trip.

You can earn awards and stickers for different tasks, like driving on a very cold day. At the end of each ride, you receive a "smile score." Read more...
