What We Learned About 'The Hobbit' From Peter Jackson's Facebook

The filming for Peter Jackson's three-part Hobbit movie trilogy has come to a close — as evidenced by Facebook uploads of a sleepy cat, green screens and rambunctious teenagers.

A flurry of posts flooded Jackson's Facebook in what appeared to be an exciting countdown to The Hobbit: There And Back Again's last shot. The third chapter in the trilogy is set for a December 2014 release.

Other updates on the social media site included pictures of Jackson's various crew members and shots of the helmer posing with his cast. As The AP pointed out, the barrage of photos were bookended by Jackson's cat, Mr. Smudge (who bears a striking resemblance to Aslan — or maybe a feline version of Gandalf). Read more...
