Verizon Unveils 3 New Droid Phones

Droids

In partnership with Motorola, Verizon unveiled the next generation of its Droid lineup on Tuesday, comprising the Droid Ultra, the Droid Maxx and the Droid Mini.

At 0.28 inch thick, the 5-inch Droid Ultra is the "thinnest 4G LTE smartphone" on the market, Verizon claims. The Maxx is basically the Ultra with a larger battery, which is said to last up to 48 hours, and it's 0.33 inch thick. The Mini has similar specs, but with a smaller screen, at 4.3 inches. All three have the same display resolution, 1,280 x 720.

Motorola packed some new features into its new lineup. The phones include a totally new way to share photos called Droid Zap. On any photo, you can swipe up with two fingers to instantly upload the photo to a "temporary cloud" tied to your location. Once it's up, any Droid phone can access it for two minutes with the Droid Zap app.
