Chris Gorham: Emmys Nod Netflix, Is YouTube Next?

Netflix earned 14 Thursday for three shows that weren’t made for television. For years in the entertainment industry, we've talked — sometimes fought (strike!) — about where our business is going. I would argue that it’s not going in any one direction, but rather that it’s going in every direction.

How do you watch “television”? I watch most shows on my iPad. When is your favorite show “on”? (Yes, Covert Affairs airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. ET on USA, but flattery will get you nowhere here.) Odds are you’re not sure because you DVR or stream it — to your living room television, to your computer or even on your phone at lunch. Television, isn’t just on a physical television set anymore.
