New 'XCOM' Puts Cold War Spin on Action-Strategy Formula

It's 1962, and America is gripped by fear of the Soviets and Communism. The country is in the midst of a blockade against Cuba after it sided with the U.S.S.R., and the only thing dominating the collective consciousness is the threat of attack.

That attack does come, but not from who we thought. Just as America's military heads are meeting in secret to discuss strange occurrences, alien attackers come screaming in.
