Hewlett Packard named three new directors to its board on Monday, including Raymond Ozzie, who previously served as the chief software architect at Microsoft.

Ozzie stepped down from his position at Microsoft in 2010 after joining the company in 2005. He initially maintained a fairly low profile, but in early 2012 he revealed his work on a new startup called Cocomo.

In addition to Ozzie, HP also nominated Liberty Media's former CEO Robert Bennett and McDonald's former CEO James Skinner, bringing the total number of board members to 12

“As we move forward with our turnaround, it’s a huge benefit to be able to get advice from a board made up of such experienced business and technology leaders,” Meg Whitman, HP's president and CEO, said in a statement. “For their part, Dob, Ray and Jim have just about seen it all during their careers. I’m very grateful for their support, as well as the ongoing support from all of the directors.”
