Must See HDTV (July 8th - 14th)

After a long holiday weekend we have a few new things to look forward to including NCAA Football 14, season two of The Newsroom and the season premiere of Top Gear. Look below for the highlights this week, followed after the break by our weekly listing of what to look out for in TV, Blu-ray and videogames.

The Bridge
FX is debuting a new drama this week, as The Bridge follows cops from the US and Mexico n the trail of a serial killer. Similar to The Killing it's a remake of a foreign series, although that one featured Denmark and Sweden. Although that show had its issues, after efforts like The Americans and Wilfred from FX we're willing to give this one a shot.

Orange is the New Black
Orange is the New Black debuts at 3:01 AM ET Thursday on Netflix in all regions, but it's already signed up for a second season on the streaming service. Fans of Showtime's Weeds may be looking forward to it the most, since both comedy-dramas were created by Jenji Kohan. Set in a women's prison, OITNB follows a new inmate sentenced to fifteen months for her part in moving drug money a decade earlier. We'll find out in a few days if Netflix has another hit on its hands, after that the next original series up should be Ricky Gervais' Derek.
