Mashable Interns Hack Their Way to DIY Glory

As summer kicks into full swing, it is finally time to build all those crafty projects you've been putting off this year. And if you need some inspiration or motivation — look no furtherMashable teamed up with The Home Depot to issue a "call to hacktion" — a challenge which asked our communities to take ordinary household items and hack them into something awesome, then tweet them with #HDHacks.

In true Mashable style, we tasked our interns to build tech- or social media-inspired hacks. We split our interns into four teams of three members, gave each team $100 and let them loose in Home Depot for 30 minutes to buy all the materials they might need. Then, the teams returned to Mashable where they would have three hours to build their hacks. Phew!
