Data Torrent has raised $8 million in a round led by August Capital for its Hadoop-based, real-time data streaming platform. The company had previously raised $750,000 in a seed round with participation from Morado Ventures, Ex-Yahoo Chief Jerry Yang's AME Cloud Ventures and well-known angel investor Farzad Nazem.
