Putin: Snowden Remains at Moscow Airport, Free to Go Anywhere

Russian President Vladimir Putin said NSA leaker Edward Snowden is in the transit area of Moscow's Sheremetyevo Airport on Tuesday and hasn't crossed the Russian border, making him free to go wherever he wants. Putin also said he won't extradite Snowden to the United States and urged Snowden to leave as soon as possible

Putin's remarks, reported by Reuters and the Associated Press, finally clarify Snowden's location. Over the weekend, the whistleblower , reportedly on a plane to Russia — but it was not completely clear whether he had arrived in Moscow.
