Missing Student Wrongfully Suspected of Boston Bombings Found Dead

Sunil Tripathi, a 22-year-old Brown University student who has been missing since mid-March, was confirmed dead Thursday after authorities recovered his body from the Providence River this week. Tripathi was falsely accused by some social media users, particularly by some Reddit users, of being involved in last week's deadly bombing of the Boston Marathon.

"We have confirmed the identity of the young man found in the water off India Point in Providence," said Dara Chadwick, a spokesperson for the Rhode Island Department of Health, as quoted by NBC News.
