New Clock Radio Warns You With Severe Weather Alerts

A new clock radio helps ensure you won't be caught off guard when severe weather affects your area.

The new American Red Cross ZoneGuard weather alert clock radio from Etón will flash its integrated LED lights when there are weather warnings, watches and advisories in up to 25 local zones that you can set. Warnings are flashed in red, watches in orange and advisories in green. You'll also hear a loud audio alert.

Since it can be powered by AA batteries (in addition to the usual AC adapter), ZoneGuard could be useful for any potential emergency weather situation when the power goes out — something many on the East Coast faced during last year's Hurricane Sandy. The gadget, which includes AM/FM radio and NOAA weather alerts, sports a pretty sleek design that can stand up on a table or be mounted on the wall. Read more...
