Blackstone reportedly backs out of Dell deal, leaves bidding war to Icahn and company founder

Micheal Dell's battle to take back his namesake firm may have just become a little easier: Blackstone seems to have lost interest. According to the Wall Street Journal, the group has backed out of the bidding war for the computer maker, declining to comment on the matter. This leaves the company's founder to contend with only Carl Icahn, bolstering his original $24.4 billion bid a better shot at acceptance. The jury's still out on who Dell's next owner will be, but at least it's a little less complicated now, right?
