Verizon Activated 4M iPhones Last Quarter, Half Were iPhone 5

Verizon activated 4 million iPhones during the March quarter, about two million of which were LTE-enabled iPhone 5 devices, the carrier reported during its earnings call Thursday morning.

Apple's iPhone represented just more than half (56%) of the 7.2 million smartphones Verizon activated last quarter and the iPhone 5 represented about a third of carrier's LTE activations. In the December quarter, nearly two-thirds of the smartphones Verizon activated (6.2 million) were iPhones and about 3 million of those were the latest model.
